ifchk (Interface Check) is a network interface promiscuous mode detection tool written with both security and system administrative applications in mind. The program will:

• Report on the state (PROMISC, normal, down, etc.) of all logical and physical interfaces.
• Shutdown all interfaces running in promiscuous mode, if so directed.
• Report interface traffic metrics; an aid to identifying spikes in traffic flow.
• Run as a daemon or foreground process.
